UniScan-T Inline Thickness Measurement Machine
The thickness of coating layers between transparent materials used
in Roll-to-Roll process is measured using OCT.
Feature
- Capable of measuring thin film/thick film/coating layer thicknesses
- OCT technology measures optical phase and it can measure thicknesses more accurately compared to X-rays

Principle of thickness measurement
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
Thickness is computed by calculating the distance differential that the light traveled from measuring objects.
The light reflected from the surface (red) and the opposite surface (blue) of a measuring object is measured as
a complex form of spectrum caused by optical interference. This spectrum is shown deformed according to thicknesses.
UniEye analyzes using its unique algorithm
to compute thicknesses.
As the algorithm measures optical phase, accurate data can be obtained,
and reproducibility (99.5% or more) is relatively superior.
(This is similar to an ophthalmological device that measures the thickness of the cornea.)
