UniScan-TX Offline Thickness Measurement Machine
The thickness of coating layers between transparent materials used in Roll-to-Roll processes is measured using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).
- OCT technology measures optical phase and thicknesses more accurately compared to X-rays
Thickness is computed by calculating the distance differential that the light traveled from measuring objects.
The light reflected from the surface (red) and the opposite surface (blue) of an object is measured as a complex
spectrum caused by optical interference. This spectrum is shown as deformed according to thicknesses.
UniEye computes thickness through analysis using its unique algorithm.
As the algorithm measures optical phase, accurate data can be obtained,
and reproducibility (99.5% or more) is relatively superior.
(This is similar to an ophthalmological device that measures the thickness of the cornea.)
- Enables real-time inspection, statistics, report, teaching, and interface functions
